"Heavy-duty robot proficient in military engineering. Utilizes sturdy excavation arms to break through natural terrain and demolish man-made structures."
    - Stage Select Description

Mighty No. 4, Seismic: is a construction robot, and is the fourth member of the Mighty Numbers created by Dr. White.

    Appearance[]

Seismic resembles a dump truck. He has three wheels, two on his shoulders and a third one on his mid-section. He also has two large shovel hands which are similar to an excavator's, and his feet are made of titanium. He is 280cm/9ft 2 inches tall, and weighs 690kg/1521lbs. He has the number "04" written on his torso in white.

    Synopsis[]

Seismic, the fourth Mighty Number created by Dr. White, fought alongside his siblings in numerous battles within the Battle Colosseum. When a mysterious virus corrupted nearly every robot, Seismic fell under its influence and disappeared into a mine, cutting off communication with SANDA Technologies.

To locate him, Beck ventured deep underground, relieved to find Seismic still operational—until he realized his comrade had also succumbed to the virus. Left with no other choice, Beck engaged Seismic in battle, ultimately defeating him and restoring him to his senses.

Once freed from the virus's grip, Seismic lends Beck his strength in the Highway stage, clearing a runaway truck and providing guidance on how to handle Brandish. Later, after the Mighty Numbers were cured, he joins Beck, Dr. White, and his siblings in an assault on the Cherry Dynamics Robot Factory to halt the production of malfunctioning robots.

Following Beck’s victory over Trinity in the Battle Colosseum, Seismic and the other Mighty Numbers were dispatched to recover both Beck and Trinity from the collapsing structure.

    Personality[]

Seismic is a straightforward, no-nonsense robot whose unmatched strength and work ethic define him. Though often blunt and gruff, he harbors a deep sense of care for his siblings, evident when he immediately questions Beck’s presence underground and warns him of the dangers after regaining his senses.

While under the virus’s control, Seismic’s speech became terse and simplistic, omitting helping verbs and referring to others in the third person. His dialogue was peppered with construction-themed phrases like “Hard hat area” and “Under construction,” reinforcing his mechanical mindset. Though this speech pattern persists briefly after his recovery, he soon returns to using first- and second-person pronouns and more natural grammar in the Highway and Robot Factory stages.

    Abilities[]

Seismic possesses immense strength, effortlessly lifting and hurling stone cubes as large as himself with a single arm. He can convert his lower body into caterpillar treads, allowing him to charge at opponents with formidable force. His arms can also transform into extendable drills, granting him impressive reach in battle. Additionally, he has the ability to summon massive pillars equipped with giant drills, though this power is only displayed in his level. His signature attack, the Strong Charge, serves as his primary weapon, reinforcing his raw power and destructive capability.

    Development[]

In the January 2014 update, the team states that the theme for Seismic from the beginning was "Earth," but not in terms of controlling the element, but having the power to flatten and destroy it. Artist KIMO KIMO designed Mighty No. 4 and gave him a construction machinery theme, with a dump truck head, body of a crane, and excavator-like hands.

When presented to Inafune, he stated that design made Mighty No. 4 look unintelligent, and commented on how No. 4's chest resembled a car, which might give the impression he could transform. Inafune suggestions included adding tires around No. 4's waist and elbows, and making him look "harder and tougher".

    Trivia[]

    • It is possible that Seismic is based on the bosses who have more massive bodies from the Mega Man series, such as Guts Man and Concrete Man. He is also similar to Turbo Man and Galaxy Man, robots who can transform.
    • Seismic's design is the favorite of KIMO KIMO, the Lead Character Developer of Mighty No. 9.
    • On extremely rare circumstances, if the player manages to position Mic on the top sides of the room while he performs his desperation attack, the pillar will fall under him and will instantly leave Seismic at 0 HP, with no chances of recovery.
