Retro Hero Mode is DLC that came with physical editions of Mighty No. 9, or if you pre-ordered the game.

The DLC adds Insane to the difficulty list. Limited to the Insane difficulty is Beck's 'retro-inspired suit'[1], in which he takes on an 8-bit style version of himself.
