Punishers are an enemy type that appear in Mighty No. 9. They appear exclusively in the Prison stage. Punishers have a greyish-white shell protecting their body and a searchlight that allows them to spot someone in their vicinity.
Description[]
Punishers will roam around in their indestructible shell until they spot Beck with their searchlight. When this happens, Punishers will enter their active phase and quickly approach Beck and fire at him. Beck can shoot at them with his cannon to stun them, causing them to enter a self-healing mode, but despite that, Punishers cannot be killed per se.
Punishers will also appear during the fight with K9, where they and Shackle Bombs are dropped in by Propellifters for K9 to eat. When they are eaten, Punishers restore K9's vision camera.
Trivia[]
- Punishers, along with Shackle Bombs, are the only enemies in Mighty No. 9 that cannot be absorbed by the player. This may be due to their protective shell.
- Punishers cannot be destroyed at all, making them the only enemy that can not be destroyed by the player.
