StageSelect I24

The Capitol Building is one of the stages in Mighty No. 9. Countershade is the boss of this stage. This stage is located in Washington, D.C.

Layout[]

This stage has three sections: the hallways, a pre-boss hallway, and the President's office where Countershade himself is fought for real.

Beck is trapped in a loop when he explores the hallways. Countershade will lurk in one of the rooms. He will then open fire with his rifle. Beck needs to follow the bullet trail to find Countershade and open fire upon him, forcing Countershade to retreat. Damaging Countershade enough causes him to retreat to his office, where he waits for his main fight.

Beck then must make his way to the office. It's a short walk, with no monsters before the boss room.

The main enemies are cleaning robots.

Trivia[]

  • The Capitol Building's design is unique among the game's stages. Instead of proceeding along a fixed path to reach the boss room, Beck must find Countershade by tracing his shots to their source, then damage Shade until he flees and find him again. Beck cannot access the boss room until Shade says "I'll meet you in my new office, little doggy."
  • There are no checkpoints in the Capitol Building prior to the boss room. If Beck loses a life, he'll have to restart from the beginning of the stage.
  • The player can 'cheat' Countershade if they don't like a room by either going backwards or leaving his room upon entering it, forcing him to move to another room. Why he does this is unknown.
  • The portraits seen in the Capitol Building are portraits of the backers, among them is EncrypteData from the Mega Man news blog "Mega Man World".
