Axecuters are an enemy type that appear in Mighty No. 9. They appear exclusively in the Prison. Axecuters resemble an orb-shaped robot with a single eye on their back and a blade that intersect them and two "legs".
Description[]
Axecuters' bodies are completely invulnerable except for the large, singular eye that usually is on their back. Axecuters remain idle until the player either attacks them or enters their searchlight, which is when they attack by rotating their torso, exposing their eye, to throw a blade towards their enemy. The blade will eventually return to the Axecuter, at which point they will rotate their torso back to their original position to try to catch their blade. However, Beck can destroy them by destabilising them with shots from his Arm Cannon (also causing their blade to pierce their eye when they try to catch it), although he cannot absorb their Xels.
Trivia[]
- An Axecuter's blade damages other enemies as well.
- Axecuters have an unique destruction animation where their blade pierces their eye and they eventually disappear. Beck can invoke this by shooting their eye to destabilise them.
- Their name seems to be a combination of the words "Axe" and "Executor".
