"Highly mobile robot proficient in reconnaissance and mid-air combat. Processes unique deformation mechanisms, and demonstrates superior adaptability both on the ground and in the air."
- Stage Select Description
Mighty No. 6: Aviator, is a flying news reporter robot, and the sixth member of the Mighty Numbers created by Dr. White.
Appearance[]
Aviator takes his design basis from a helicopter, and has a blue jet torso with yellow markings, a gray propeller on his head (which can move to his back) and the number "06" written behind his nose in white and in the same font as Cryosphere, Battalion and Brandish. His legs and arms are also blue with yellow, connected by gray parts. Aviator's pointer fingers can shoot bullets from their tips in their straightened state, though they can also operate like standard pointers. His shins also carry orange rockets to fire. Aviator is 220cm/7ft 3 inches tall, and weighs 150kg/331lb.
Synopsis[]
Aviator, the sixth Mighty Number created by Dr. White, fought alongside his siblings in numerous battles within the Battle Colosseum. When a mysterious virus caused nearly every robot to go berserk, Aviator was among the infected. Amid the chaos, he briefly interrupted an emergency news broadcast to announce the widespread accidents occurring.
Seizing control of a Radio Tower, Aviator repurposed its signal capabilities, broadcasting erratic messages from above. When Beck reached the top of the tower, the two clashed in battle, and after a hard-fought encounter, Beck successfully subdued Aviator and restored him to his senses.
Once freed from the virus, Aviator assists Beck in the Oil Platform stage, guiding him to Pyrogen while clearing obstacles by knocking down pillars. Later, after the Mighty Numbers were cured, Aviator joined his siblings, Beck, and Dr. White in an assault on the Cherry Dynamics Robot Factory to halt the production of malfunctioning robots. However, he left early to aid Dr. Sanda and Call by providing vital information about the guard robot K9. He later assisted in transporting Beck to the Battle Colosseum for his confrontation with Trinity.
Following Beck’s victory over Trinity, Aviator and the other Mighty Numbers were dispatched to rescue both him and Trinity from the collapsing structure.
Personality[]
Aviator is a fast-talking, charismatic robot who thrives in the spotlight, turning every moment into a performance. When Beck ascends the Radio Tower, Aviator fully embraces his role as a news anchor, providing live commentary on Beck's progress while warning him about incoming weather hazards, enemies, and his own attacks. His references to the "republic" he hopes to build hint at his belief in equality—or at least fair representation—for all robots.
His informal speech and animated personality set him apart, especially after regaining his senses. He showers Beck with playful nicknames like "Beckels," "Tyrannosaurus Becks," "Rud-Beck-a," and "Beckropolis," adding flair to their interactions. His boisterous nature is particularly evident when he bursts into conversations with Beck and the other Mighty Numbers, ensuring his presence is always felt.
Abilities[]
Aviator takes to the skies with his built-in propeller, granting him exceptional mobility in aerial combat. He can unleash explosive devastation by dropping bombs from his legs, while the Vulcans mounted under his arms allow him to fire rapid volleys of bullets at his targets. Additionally, he utilizes a flying camera as a weapon, using it to try and deal damage to Beck during their battle.
Other Appearances[]
In Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Aviator returns as a boss, deploying rapid-fire small projectiles at different heights to keep his opponent on edge. He soars skyward at high speed, then swoops down before launching back up in a sharp "V" formation, making him difficult to track.
As the battle intensifies, he summons his flying camera, repurposing it as a shield to block incoming attacks. When his health reaches a critical level, Aviator executes a deceptive tactic—his camera records both his and the player's movements, then replays the footage, generating illusory copies of himself and Beck. These fakes sow confusion on the battlefield, punishing Beck if he mistakenly attacks Aviator’s duplicate.
Trivia[]
- Avi might be based on Gyro Man from the Mega Man series due to his helicopter design, though he bears a greater resemblance to his NetNavi counterpart, GyroMan.EXE, as both can transform into an actual unmanned helicopter.
- Avi is the most reoccurring Mighty No. to appear in the game, as he shows up in the City stage, Oil Platform (if defeated in his own stage and liberated of the virus that drove him mad), the Prison, the Robot Factory, and the Battle Colosseum (Stage) outside of his own.
- Avi's Japanese VA, Shōtaro Morikubo, is also known as the vocalist of "Monkey" and "The Answer" (the theme songs of Mega Man X5 and Mega Man X6, respectively). He's also the VA of Mega Man X and Dynamo in Mega Man X5 and Mega Man X6.
- His weakness may play on the fact that snipers can get a bead on mid-air targets.
- On the Prison level, the advice he gives to Call to defeat the boss is a reference to a "Genji: Days of the Blade" quote on the Sony E3 2006 conference. [1]
